There is a lot happening in HRVA this weekend! Here are just a few of the local events that caught our eye! If you have an event coming up let us know! Our lists are seen by over 2k HRVA locals per week!
Friday, October 5th
Proteus Festival presents a series of unique performances, presentations, and original works in three creative disciplines: music, theater, and film. A festival badge allows admission to all events on a first-come, first served basis for the entire festival. Coupled with performances and film screenings, there are panel discussions with artists, producers, directors, and other creative professionals; participatory public art installations; afterparties and networking meetups; and pop-up artistic and culinary surprises.
Come by to sample all of our local produce and goodies at our Grand Opening Celebration for our 1st ‘First Friday’ in the Vibe.
It’s our favorite time of year here at Hunt Club Farm, and we are celebrating the fall season every day and in every way with bushels of activities for the whole family! Featuring our farm-tour hayrides and Virginia Beach’s largest pumpkin patch! On weekends, the fun ripens up with inflatable amusements, carnival rides, food & novelty vendors, and a DJ! As always, chase a chicken, feed a goat, ride a pony, and visit a wide variety of animals on our Petting Farm.
Green Hand Farm Park kicks off another exciting fall season – this year’s theme is “the Wizard of Oz” – based on the well-loved book and motion picture! Follow the yellow brick road and venture through our 8-acre corn maze this year on your own life-size adventure! PLUS, don’t miss our other fun activities!
Saturday, October 6th
Chelsea West Fest, hosted by and benefiting Hope House Foundation, will be a full day of celebrating what makes this region great: local crafters, talented local musicians, local beers and brews, and the unique eateries just steps away from the festival. Gates open at noon!
Whether you consider yourself a wine connoisseur or an aspiring novice—you don’t want to miss our grand tasting. Not only will you sample some of Virginia’s finest vino, but we’ll take your palate on a trip around the world! Yorktown shares more than just history with our sister cities Zweibrücken and Port-Vendres. In a nod to both countries, you can sample Rieslings and Gewürztraminers from Germany and indulge bubbly from France—the only place where true champagne is created! We’ll feature live music, great food from local restaurants, and the work of talented artisans. New this year, your ticket will get you into the Virginia Craft Beer Garden. Rain or Shine.
Biplanes and Brews is a unique airshow, pairing together beer and aviation history. While the whole family watches as World War I aircraft fly above, those who are of age can select from 20 craft beers on tap, brewed by some of our favorite Virginia Breweries.
The Shack presents our inaugural Shacktoberfest party! Join us October 6th and 7th from 2-6 pm. Enjoy authentic German food and premium beer from local and national breweries.
Come get your growl on at the Virginia Zoo! Join us for a fun-filled evening of beer, food trucks, a DJ and games at Growl Fest to benefit the Sunrise and Downtown Rotary Clubs of Norfolk and the Virginia Zoo. Local breweries will each be serving up two of their favorite brews, attendees can feast from the area’s best food trucks, and there will be a Children’s Play Area hosted by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. Growl Fest includes exclusive after-hours access to the Zoo, with the animals on exhibit until 7 pm. This is fun for the whole family or a group of your wildest friends.
Sunday, October 7th
