Friday, October 18th

FlickIt! Fridays: Hocus Pocus at the NARO-Norfolk After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz) explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and their new friend, Allison (Vinessa Shaw). After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy) who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal. (1993, PG, 96mins)

Chris Stapleton’s All American Road Show-Virginia Beach At the Veteran’s Home Loans Amphitheater, come out for a great time & great music.

History, Mystery, Mayhem and Murder Cemetery Tour-Norfolk Join local historian Robert Hitchings and discover Norfolk’s link to the world’s most notorious murderers. Resurrect long forgotten tales of crime and chaos and learn where bodies are buried. Explore hauntingly beautiful memorial art and architecture. Material may not be suitable for children under the age of 12. Suggested donation of $5 goes to conservation goals.

NEON Emporium: Temporal Projections-Norfolk BUTTON SLASHERS and Norfolk Zine Fest are teaming up to host a special evening of art, music, and games, and giving you a first glimpse at this beautiful 12,000 sq ft modern-industrial inspired space that will soon be hosting events in the coming months

Frightmare Purge-Chesapeake One night only our demonic freaks light up the night but only just enough for you to see the evil coming!

Saturday, October 19th

Living Room Artists Series at Back Bay Brewing-Virginia Beach Come hang out in our living room on October 19th from 8:30 p.m. to midnight for local art, live music, special beer releases and more! Our tasting room will be transformed into a psychedelic living room for this night only! Kick back on our couch and enjoy the show.

Closing out Oktoberfest at The Garage Brewery-Chesapeake If you’re thinking, can I possibly celebrate ONE MORE Oktoberfest, the answer is yes. Why say bye so soon!? Come to the Garage for our End of Oktoberfest party!
We will have German style beers on draft and AMAZING German food from Deutscher Imbiss and Pittsburg’s Best! Dust off the Lederhosen & Dirndls, its gonna be a closeout German celebration.

Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival The Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival will take place ON THE BEACH at 30th Street. This event is **RAIN OR SHINE** Over 50 craft beers from over 25 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival. Tickets include unlimited sampling, a commemorative cup, and live entertainment. Chairs and pets are not allowed into the gated venue.

Fall Stockley Gardens Arts Festival-Norfolk Building community takes art. Music. Food. Laughter. A willingness to work together. Most of all, it takes vision. For over 30 years, Hope House has been the vision behind the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival. And now, the free event is a community tradition, drawing more than 50,000 visitors annually.

Fall Fest at McDonald Garden Center-Virginia Beach The grand finale of our fall schedule, the McDonald Garden Center Fall Fest is a customer favorite that our staff has been looking forward to all season! Yes, we will be bringing you some pretty awesome deals, but we also have lots of activities for all ages! Pumpkins, cider, crafts, photo booths, fall stuff….what is there to think about?

Siren’s Drag Brunch at the Mermaid Winery-Virginia Beach Join us for Drag Brunch at Mermaid Winery Virginia Beach.
We have an amazing group of Sirens who are dying to put on a show for you! Brunch begins at 10am. The show starts at 11am and ends at 1pm

Escape! Nightmare Mansion-Virginia Beach ESCAPE! Nightmare Mansion, Virginia Beach’s most immersive, intensely dark & scary escape room is now booking for the rest of October! Due to sold out shows all summer, we are excited that ESCAPE! Nightmare Mansion has been extended into the fall! Reservations are now booking online by appointment.

6th Annual Dogtoberfest at O’Conner’s- Norfolk Are you ready for the greatest dog party in town? Mark your calendars for Dogtoberfest, Sunday, Oct. 20th from 1-5 p.m. at O’Connor Brewing Co.!
The lineup is off the chain: craft beer, kooky canines, costumes, raffles, a food truck and more! Come for the dogs, the beer, the lederhosen, the dogs in lederhosen, dogs dressed like beer, beer drinkers dressed like dogs . . . it’s just about the most fun you can have on a Sunday afternoon! This yearly fundraiser benefits the homeless pets of our beloved shelter, the Norfolk Animal Care Center.

Animal Appreciation: International Sloth Day at the Virginia Zoo-Norfolk We’re wild about our animals! Help us celebrate some of our favorite Zoo friends and their wild counterparts by joining us for Animal Appreciation Days! Explore all the things that make our animals unique, learn about their threats in the wild, and learn what the Zoo and our partners are doing to protect these species.

Car-Tober-Fest at Maker’s Craft-Norfolk Fall Fundraiser Festival – Car Show, Craft Beer, Food and Games – Family Friendly. Do you love cars? Do you love beer? Do you love supporting local charities? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions then THIS is the event for you!Join us on Sunday, October 20th from 12-4 p.m. at Maker’s Craft Brewery for Car-Tober-Fest, a Car and Truck Show. This event is open to all so bring the family out for an afternoon filled with cool custom cars, fun games, raffles with prizes, and some nice, cold brews!Proceeds for the event go directly to supporting deployed U.S. troops through Troopster Military Care Packs. Troopster is a local 501(c)3 charity that sends care packages to service members who are overseas. This event is open to ALL cars and trucks with a $20.00 registration fee. For application, email David Oliver at [email protected] Trophies and Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Engine, Crowd Favorite, and Brewer’s Choice! There will be raffle prizes, goodie bags, and refreshments so bring your car and show the crowd what you are made of!
